On Wednesday, March 19 2008, a deep low pressure system centered over the North Atlantic started generating large northerly swells over Anguilla, with the largest swells on Thursday morning, when these pictures were taken. Serious beach erosion occurred on most beaches. Other than during hurricanes, most people cannot remember seeing them this large. Large, dangerous swells are expected to last through the weekend.
